  • Providers preparing for verification or certification audits
  • Providers approaching renewal
  • Organisations responding to compliance notices or conditions
  • Providers wanting ongoing monitoring between audits

Common questions

Questions about compliance and audit.

What is the difference between verification and certification?+

Verification is desk-based for lower-risk groups. Certification is more comprehensive, commonly includes a site visit and applies to higher-risk supports.

How often do Practice Standards change?+

Standards are reviewed and updated periodically. Providers should monitor changes and update systems when new requirements apply.

What happens if an audit identifies non-compliance?+

The auditor reports findings to the Commission. Corrective actions, registration conditions or other compliance action may follow depending on severity.
